TECHNICAL INSIGHT: MODERN TEXTILE MANUFACTURING FACILITIES

1. Fewer Columns, Greater Production Efficiency

Production areas require uninterrupted floor space to accommodate spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing lines, and internal logistics systems. Large-span steel structures offer several advantages:

• Minimize the number of columns within production areas.
• Increase flexibility for production line layout and future expansion.
• Optimize the flow of raw materials and finished products.
• Reduce conflicts with MEP and fire protection systems.

However, as span lengths increase, requirements for deflection control, overall structural stability, and load-bearing performance become significantly more demanding.

• Interaction between the primary structure and building envelope systems.

An optimal design is not the one that uses the most steel, but the one that achieves the best balance between strength, stiffness, and cost efficiency.

3. Large Open Spaces Demand Higher Construction Precision

In large-scale textile projects, construction schedule is often a critical success factor. Precision fabrication at the manufacturing stage helps:

• Reduce erection tolerances on site.
• Minimize field modifications and adjustments.
• Accelerate the completion of roofing, cladding, and MEP works.
• Ensure readiness for production line installation.
